Free! A unique opportunity to talk to an expert and learn from fellow attendees. Twelve ethnic and research tables with a table host and 9 participants; ask questions, seek answers and discuss. Second Sessions - 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM

Mondays' Meet The Speakers - Jamboree 2019





Daniel Horowitz 
MyHeritage Daniel Horowitz, genealogy expert for MyHeritage, provides key contributions on product development and public affairs. He is a computer engineer with specialization in education and a board member of several genealogy societies.

Janet Hovorka Family ChartMasters 
Janet Hovorka owns Family ChartMasters, the official printing service for every major genealogy company. She is the author of ten Zap the Grandma Gap books about engaging youth with family history, two blogs and has widely written and lectured about family history. She is co-founder of the genealogyDOTcoach connecting professionals and clients for short consultations, the Genealogy Business Alliance and teaches genealogy and business at SLCC.

Julie Huffman, MLIS 
Julie has been a librarian at Los Angeles Public Library for 13 years and has had the privilege of being the genealogy librarian for five. Her interest in genealogy started ages ago when her great grandma told her she was related to the King of Sweden (she's not). Julie has a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri and a master's degree in Library & Information Science from UCLA. Her hobby is doing her friends' genealogies so she can learn about other places and history.

Tim Janzen, MD 
Tim Janzen is a medical doctor in Portland, Oregon. For the past 12 years he has been using DNA analysis to help complement traditional genealogical research. Glenn Penner and he are the co-administrators of the Mennonite DNA project at www.mennonitedna.com. Tim has a strong interest in many areas of genetic genealogy, particularly in regards to phasing and autosomal DNA analysis. Dr. Janzen speaks frequently on this topic.
