Mondays' Meet The Speakers - Jamboree 2019


Daniel Earl

Daniel Earl got his start in family history at age 10 when his father took him to the grave of his great-grandfather; that sparked a lifetime of interest in family history. He has spent the last 25 years researching his own family history and helping others make history a part of their story.

Alice M Fairhurst

Alice M. Fairhurst, MS is President of the Southern California Genealogical Society and serves as Jamboree co-chair. From 2006 to 2015 she managed the International Society of Genetic Genealogy (ISOGG) Y-DNA Haplotree tree (www.isogg.org/tree) cited in many academic papers. Prior to retirement from JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory), she taught at Cal Poly Pomona and Glendale Community College. An avid genealogist, she first started recording her family stories when in grammar school and has traced her Scottish, Irish, and French roots back to the old country.

Colleen Greene, MLIS

Colleen Greene, MLIS, is a librarian, web developer, and educator. She is the marketing librarian for California State University, Fullerton, and teaches an online graduate-level genealogical methodology course for San Jose State University. Greene's teaching focuses on methodology; Mexican, Mexican-American, and Hispanic research; emerging technologies; and society marketing and communications.

Jean Wilcox Hibben, PhD

Circlemending

Retired college professor and former Board-Certified genealogist, Jean Wilcox Hibben has a Master's in speech communication and a PhD in folklore. A national speaker and writer, Jean is the staff trainer for the Corona Family History Center and President of both the Corona Gen Soc and the So Calif Chapter of APG. Jean’s podcasts on social history are available at genjourneys.podbean.com. She has been a Jamboree presenter since 2010.
