Join Us!
ABOUT THE PRESENTATION
Tracking one’s immigrant ancestors may test all one’s research acumen. Identifying a subject's origins, parentage; tracking through time; and placing in social context is best approached by broadening research to include other family members, associates and neighbors. This talk outlines a program for solving research problems via cluster and collateral research techniques and DNA analysis.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
An archaeologist (BA & MA), Emily Garber has been researching her Jewish ancestry since 2007 and holds a certificate from Boston University's Genealogical Research program. She is a researcher, writer, and speaker and owns Extra Yad Genealogical Services. In 2013, she visited family towns and archives in Ukraine.
Garber blogs (http://www.extrayad.blogspot.com) and has written three articles for Avotaynu. She chairs the Phoenix Jewish Genealogy Group and moderates the JewishGen Discussion Group.
HANDOUT
