Jamboree 2016: Sunday Workshop - Easily Create a Video of Your Family Research to Share with Family

Guest post by Dr. Jan Joyce Ahrens

There's NO WORK in this workshop...only FUN!

You love your genealogy research, but at family gatherings and cocktail parties others' eyes glaze over when you start talking about it, right? Now you can learn how to convert all that information YOU LOVE into a fascinating piece of video that THEY WILL LOVE!

Join us on Sunday, June 5 from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. during our 90-minute session and you will learn how to accomplish the following:
  • Determine your first video topic
  • Profiling audience and what they would like to learn
  • Identifying what materials you already have to include
  • Organizing to be efficient
  • Curating other content
  • Writing a brief script
  • Using visual and audio effects for high impact
  • Recording your script
  • Editing
  • Premiering or publishing your video
The focus of the workshop will be on developing content and we will touch on the technology a bit.

You need to bring nothing to this workshop except your passion for your family history research and a desire to continue evolving it in new ways. There is no need for a laptop or tablet. The materials for the workshop will be provided to you. Oh, bring a pen. If you forget, I'll let you borrow one.

Want to see an example of what you will learn to do? Click here now, or on either of the images, to watch sample videos.
