ABOUT THE PRESENTATION
The
local courthouse, auditor, or recorder holds records about purchases and sales
of your ancestor’s property. Often you can identify where they migrated to or
from. The records may identify other family members and close associates. Learn
how to locate and understand these genealogical documents.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Family historian, researcher, speaker, and writer, Michelle Roos Goodrum is a teaching assistant for Boston University's Genealogical Research Program. Involved in genealogy since 1994 when she discovered her family's stash of old documents and photos, she is now the caretaker of 140 years of her family's history. Some of the records are related to her ancestors’ homes, which sparked an interested in land records. Goodrum is also passionate about genetic genealogy and photography.
A handout will be available shortly before the presentation. A link will be included in a reminder that will be sent the day before the session.
