Jamboree 2016: Marriott Room Update

Staying at the Marriott for Jamboree?

Why not treat yourself and upgrade to Concierge Level?

The Burbank Marriott's Concierge Level, located in the East Tower, offers Jamboree attendees both larger rooms than those in the hotel's West Tower and the convenience of closer proximity to the Convention Center. Rooms are available with one king or two double beds, and some connecting rooms are available for those with larger parties, or those who like to party with others. Included with all Concierge Level rooms is access to a private business center and turn down service, if desired.

The Concierge Level comes with all-day access to the Concierge Lounge where you can find fuel to help you stay in top form all day long. The lounge serves breakfast daily until 9 am, hot and cold beverages and light munchies throughout the day, hors d'oeuvres between 5 pm and 7 pm, and a dessert bar from 7 pm to 9 pm. Although Jamboree gains no advantage if you book a concierge room, we recommend these as a "good buy" both in terms of offsetting food expenses, location, general amenities and convenience.

To make your room reservations online, visit http://tinyurl.com/jambo2016Hotel.  If you experience difficulties making a reservation online, we strongly suggest calling the hotel directly at (818) 843 - 6000 or (800) 736 - 9712. Be sure to mention the group SCGS Conference in order to get the Jamboree rates.

Free In-Room Wi-Fi

Avoid the daily charge for in-room wi-fi by signing up for the Marriott Rewards program. You can do so in advance by going to this link. You can also register with the program when checking in for your stay. If you're already a Marriott Rewards member, please add your rewards number to your reservation.

Roommate Connection

Jamboree offers a roommate matching service for those who wish to reduce lodging expenses.
If you are interested in such an arrangement, please send an email to roommate@scgsgenealogy.com

If you are planning to attend the Genealogy Day events, don't bother trying to get a Concierge -level room for June 1st and 2nd. first. The hotel is not allowing occupancy of those rooms until the 3rd.

Also, whomever set the dates up for the SCGS rate forgot that people attending the Thursday seminar might like to arrive the night before and didn't get the rate for the night of June 1st either. Plan to spend an additional $104 for that night!

Hi Theresa,

I have forwarded the information to the Jamboree committee. Thank you for letting us know there is an issue. As soon as we have clarification we will post the information. We are trying very hard to make sure Jamboree attendees can book rooms, and are working closely with the Marriott. As we mentioned in the post, rooms are going at a record rate, and we were trying to point out options. There were rooms available on Wednesday evening as part of the block, but they may have already sold out. The committee will look into it further. Lise/Social Media
